Just the name Billy Masters conjures up an image of irreverent hysteria, political incorrectness, and a jet-set lifestyle. With his weekly column syndicated to over twenty gay and alternative publications around the world, Billy is one of the most popular gay male personalities today.  His web site of gets over 300,000 hits per day ensuring that fans around the globe can keep tabs on Billy's personal appearances and views on the rich and famous he numbers among his friends.  Billy just celebrated his 12th year of writing this weekly must-read.

Since his first appearance at a small Cambridge comedy club in 1987, Billy has delighted audiences with his unique brand of ribald humor and unabashed playfulness.  Through his uninterrupted run as the only performer to have a weekly show in Boston over a seven year period (for two years, he had three weekly shows!), Billy has built a loyal following based on his quick mind and ability to bridge the gap between performer and audience.  A Billy Masters Show is more like a party for all who attend!

In addition to stand-up, Billy is also a popular host for a variety of theme nights in nightclubs.  This popularity led to his New York stage debut as the host of PrideFest (click here) taking place during the Gay Games, New York Gay Pride and Stonewall 25 celebrations.  He was so enthusiastically received by the audience (estimated at over fifty thousand) that he was held over as host past his scheduled 2 hours for an unprecedented 5 hours.  Because of this success, Billy was invited to host the following year.

Aside from his ongoing work in the gay community, Billy has also toured with a variety of entertainers and opened for such artists as Joan Rivers, Charo, The Bangles, Taylor Dayne, Joy Behar, The Pointer Sisters, Olivia Newton-John, Joan Jett, Eartha Kitt, Grace Jones and RuPaul.  He's also opened for George Michael, but who hasn't?  He has appeared on various television shows including Kathy Griffin - My Life on the D-List, The Joan Rivers Show, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, The Anna Nicole Show and People Are Talking.

Billy's items are frequently cited on television shows, most regularly on The View, where he has appeared as a "Hot Topic", Ellen, Extra and Access Hollywood.  Masters has been a commentator on a number of those shows where funny talking heads are needed for fast-paced quips.  Too numerous to list, he's usually the funniest one with the best hair and tan!

Billy has a talk show in development and filmed the pilot episode with guests Julie Newmar, Janet Charlton, and Christopher Sieber (click here).  He is co-author of Heavenly Bodies, a book about celebrity AIDS fundraisers in Hollywood.  He is also featured prominently in the book Claims to Fame: Celebrity in Contemporary America by Joshua Gamson (University of California Press) as well as the annual editions of The Best of the Superstars by John Patrick (Starbooks, Florida). 

Billy studied acting (click here) at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and can be seen in a variety of episodic television series and commercials.  He returned to the stage to appear in the Palm Springs premiere of How To Shoot a Porno.  He also starred in the highly-acclaimed Philadelphia production of Ronnie Larsen’s Making Porn and later brought that toured with that production in Canada.  His own play, Hollywood Uncovered (click here)premiered in Los Angeles and toured the country in the summer of 2002.

With a keen social conscious and a determination to use his visibility to help others, Billy does as many benefits as his schedule allows.  He recently brought his one-man show to Philadelphia as a benefit for the William Way Center (click here) and to Ft.
